Match Summary
Christian Eriksen gave Spurs the lead early on after he finished a good run with an exquisite finish. Erik Lamela then made it 2-0 as he rolled the ball past a defender before curling an effort past Kristoffer Nordfeldt and finally Eriksen bagged his brace in the 62nd minute to take a step closer to winning their first trophy under Mauricio Pochettino.
After a tame opening to the quarter-final, Eriksen brought the tie to life with a stunning effort to open the scoring. The midfielder drove towards the Swans defence before curling a left footed effort past Nordfeldt into the left-hand corner.
Lucas Moura then had a chance to double their lead after some good footwork set him up inside the box, but the final shot was too weak to trouble Nordfeldt.
In the 23rd minute, Heung-min Son had a great goal disallowed after the South Korean was judged to be in an offside position before he took a neat first touch and finished smartly. The decision was eventually confirmed by the VAR.
Eriksen forced a good save out of Nordfeldt as he powered a shot towards the top corner, but this time the Swede was up to the task as he managed to tip the ball over at full stretch.
Just before the half-time whistle, Lamela gave the visitors a second goal as he glided past two defenders before curling a right-footed shot past Nordfeldt, who was rooted to the spot.
The Swans started the second half brightly and Michel Vorm pulled out a fine double save to keep out Martin Olsson's long-range effort before saving a point-blank effort from Tammy Abraham.
On the other end, Eric Dier hit a powerful shot which looked destined for the top-left corner were it not for Nordfeldt, who got across to make another good save.
After an extended spell of pressure from Spurs, Eriksen notched his brace when Moura rolled the ball to the Danish midfielder, who then put his laces through it and the ball rocketed into the back of the net.
Just a minute later, Eriksen fired away an almost identical shot towards the bottom corner, but this time without enough venom to beat Nordfeldt.
