Full Report
The hosts were in control from start to finish as they bounced back from the 1-0 defeat to FC Koln on matchday five in style.
Mohamed Elneny sent an early warning to the newly-crowned Belarusian champions when he hit the outside of the right post in the third minute after latching onto Olivier Giroud's downward header.
Mirko Ivanic threatened at the other end five minutes later as he collected a weak clearance from Calum Chambers and fired over on the volley from 20 yards out.
That was the visitors' only chance in a first half dominated by the Gunners, who broke the deadlock in front of a subdued crowd on 11 minutes when Debuchy rifled a shot into the left corner of the net from 17 yards out, after Walcott was dispossessed inside the box on the right.
Denis Scherbitski somehow kept out Walcott's stabbed effort from point-blank range on 26 minutes after Giroud's header played him in, while the skipper for the day went close again moments later with a low free-kick from just outside the area that rolled past the right post.
Walcott finally got his goal on 37 minutes courtesy of a lucky break as Danny Welbeck carried the ball into the box before being tackled by Nemanja Milunovic, with the ball falling nicely for the England international, who lashed home from seven yards out.
The north Londoners continued to look in the mood and Walcott was denied his second goal on 41 minutes by a block on the line from Milunovic, while Wilshere saw his curling effort from 21 yards out tipped over by Scherbitski soon after.
But the England midfielder did find the back of the net on 43 minutes with a fine strike from 16 yards out that flew into the right corner - his first goal in a Gunners shirt since May 2015.
Arsenal made a fast start to the second half and went 4-0 up in the 51st minute when Walcott's cross from the right was sliced into his own net by Dzianis Polyakov.
Welbeck tested Scherbitski from 14 yards out on 58 minutes after cutting inside from the right, while Giroud blasted over from a similar position three minutes later.
But they were soon celebrating the fifth goal as Milunovic brought down Walcott inside the box on the right, with Giroud twice beating Scherbitski from 12 yards out after his initial penalty had to be retaken due to encroachment.
A rare chance for BATE saw Igor Stasevich shoot straight at David Ospina on the turn after the midfielder did well to bring the ball down inside the box on 68 minutes.
However, Elneny got in on the act six minutes later as he curled home a first-time shot from 16 yards on the left after being teed up by Wilshere.
The Gunners eased off in the closing stages which allowed BATE to push forward, with Yevgeniy Berezkin curling a shot inches wide of the right post from 19 yards out on 86 minutes, before Mikhail Gordeychuk forced Ospina into action with a rasping effort from distance in stoppage time.
